1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Balance ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Balance is a personal activity logging application that uses AI to help you track and reflect on your daily activities across work, life, and self-care domains.

3. Use License

Permission is granted to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not:

  • Modify or copy the Service materials
  • Use the Service for any commercial purpose
  • Attempt to reverse engineer any software in the Service
  • Remove any copyright or proprietary notations
  • Transfer the Service to another person or mirror the Service on any other server

4. User Data

You retain all rights to the data you create and store in the Service. By using the Service, you grant Balance permission to:

  • Store your activity entries in our database
  • Process your entries through AI services for categorization and insights
  • Display your entries back to you through the application interface

We will never sell your data or use it for advertising purposes.

5. AI Processing

The Service uses third-party AI providers (Anthropic Claude) to process your activity entries. While we take measures to protect your privacy, you acknowledge that:

  • Your entries are sent to AI providers for processing
  • AI processing is stateless and does not retain conversation history
  • We cannot guarantee absolute confidentiality of data sent to third-party processors

6. Disclaimer

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND.

Balance makes no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaims all warranties including, without limitation, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of intellectual property.

Balance does not warrant that:

  • The Service will meet your requirements
  • The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
  • Results obtained from using the Service will be accurate or reliable
  • Any errors in the Service will be corrected

7. Limitations of Liability

In no event shall Balance or its suppliers be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption) arising out of the use or inability to use the Service.

8. Account Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account at any time, with or without cause or notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

10. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
